I have it down to just 2 contenders. The (2) and the (6). My preference would be the (2) who ran in stronger company and shows well in a fast paced race.
The (3) pressed the (2) for the lead. Both these horses gave way to the (7) and (5) in the stretch. The (5) prevailed and paid a whopping 15-1 odds to win. The field was reduced to just 5 horses due to nearly 40% scratches on an off track listed as muddy.

With almost 40% of the field being scratched including my second choice the (2) at even money looks like the consummate lock.
